Hello to all! Just scored a 77 XS 360, barn find with only 3400 on the clock. But the engine was locked up. So after a week of gradually going further and further, I now have the cases split and a spun rod bearing as the culprit. It looks like the crank is salvageable, but it will have to be turned/polished. The bearings are still available, but I don't know how to interpret the part numbers. Anyone have experience with this? Guidance is needed!! And by the way, thanks to all those who posted how to articles on here, the case splitting was a breeze thanks to all the info in the threads.

You want an oversize bearing to take up the slack. The come in different sizes and are listed in color codes. Blue, black, brown and green. With blue being standard and green being the largest. You will need to have it measured and checked for the size you need. I would use a yamaha shop or a machine shop to do this. You don't want it too tight or loose.
