What finish should I put on my tank?

Oh yeah, I should post this here. This is my raw material - the stock Maxim tank. Oddly shaped, currently bare metal. The only difference since the picture was taken is that I've ground off the tabs where the side panels mounted up.

I keep thinking the bare metal looks pretty good, but I think it's because I'm in love with this XV750:

I think what sets that bare metal off on the bike you posted is the touch of brass at the forks and the very dark underframe/tires. So I'd play off that color scheme.

Yeah, he put on USD forks from a GSX-R or R6 or something, hence the awesome colour. I'm thinking of a tan leather seat and tan grips, which let me play off of a steampunk theme with bare metal (although a copper plated tank would be awesome with that concept...)

No - I found a seller in India. They didn't quite fit - I needed to drill and countersink new holes, but they were cheap (like 8 bucks with shipping.)
