what other tanks will fit?

I've just bought an xs400 seca. the tank is rusted through so i need another.

Thing is i;m in Scotland and this is a US model so spares are thin on the ground.

I've had an xj600 before and i reckon the tank of that would fit. anyone got any experience wi different tanks?

You dont have many options other than finding another XS 400 tank Im pretty sure the older 70`s enduro 360 tanks will fit.

ive got an xs250 tank that will fit right on for sale ? are you interested come freshly painted with tap lock rubbers etc

You can go with a Maxim tank, and I've often suspected that some of the other single shock Yamahas from the early 80s will fit. The bike has a big backbone that you need to clear, but I believe that the 1982 XV750 (with the single swingarm) had the same backbone. The length may be different, but it might just work.

yeah it was the backbone that made me think of the the XJ i'll visit a breakers and "try em on" lol
