Where to buy gaskets for exhaust 78 xs400 2e

78 xs400 2e

Anyone know where to buy gaskets that go to the part of the exhaust that goes into the heads themselves. Looks like they come in two pieces. Also are there other gaskets there too? seems like there should be a second gasket to make up some of the space between those split gaskets and the head itself?

You can get them from any dealer or online oem parts store. They are around $2-$4 depending on where you look.

The gasket is only 1 piece, not split. It seals the head against the end of the exhaust. The 2 split collars push the pipe only via the larger collar and the head studs.

Can i buy the collars? Or am i going to have to find them used somewhere?

For some reason the 2E has a different part number listed for the split collars, but I'm almost certain the ones in that parts list will work.

The 2-e has the square head design. So you need to use the style used in those motors as the lenght of the mounting area is different than the ones on the round style motors.

Didn't people get around that issue by flipping that finned collar? Could have sworn I read about that on here
