will this trugel battery be adequate?

Looking to put a smaller battery on my 81 xs 400. I've seen threads on building your own batteries but I'm not quite interested in doing that.

So I am running head and tail lights, and kick only. no electric start. Will a tru gel 12v 7a (medium size) work well and kick over easily our duo I need to stay with a larger battery?

7 amp hour is more than enough, with a kick only you can go pretty small, I've got a small 2.5amp hour and it starts first kick, i think some guys even go down to a 1.2 amp hour. ive got all battery and electrics tucked up under the seat in a small tray so the frame is completely clear. so depends if you want to ditch the stock battery box completely or just stick with the stock size

In that case I may go a bit smaller so I can hide the battery as well.

Yeah I can Estart on my 7ah battery, so for kick only you could go a bit smaller

I just kickstarted without complaint off a 1.3aH battery, but I haven't actually run it at all yet so take that under consideration.
