Hey all-
I'm a n00b around here, but glad to say I picked up a 1980 XS400SG for a case of beer. It has been sitting for 8 years. Gas in the tank, gas in the carbs.
Rough I know, but not beyond hope.
First order of business is getting the paperwork in order. that should be complete in the next few weeks.
While that is happening, I plan on getting it running.
Carbs have been pulled and have been dosed in penetrating lube to loosen 8 years of surface rust on the steel parts.
I went to drain the oil and craxked the oil filler cap. It doesn't seem like they are still available. Has anyone found a suitable replacement?
Thanks, and I look forward to posting my progress.
