Oh Sake, has there been another rice drink that has ruined so many nights adventures?

Sad memories, maybe lucky that way ...

Used the ratcheting strap trick to mount my front tire and it's holding air now!! :D:D Changed the fuse box to blade type fuses so I could trouble shoot my lack of spark on the right side. Went to start the bike and.......nothing  Dead battery:mad: Currently charging. Check again tomorrow.

Decided to ride to work today. checked the weather there was a storm but it looked like it was going to pass north of me. so i ride. get a quarter of the way there then boom!!! thunder, lightning and pouring rain very very hard poring rain! "o man this sucks" i think to myself so i get to a intersection a half mile from work. soaking wet by this time. i stop at the stop sign the bike dies! "what the %@%%" so i kick it over as im waving cars around me. she won't start. so i start pushing.i get her to the nearest house. thankfully the home owners were very nice and let me keep the bike there and even gave me a ride to work. Its nice to now there's still good people out there that help a person in need.

I sold the 400 today. Vary sad moment. I think I will have to find another seca to play with in the future. The dohc motor and 6 speeds is just way to much fun.

So Hubbs and I survived our first motorcycle rally/camping trip. He built a luggage rack for his 1982 550 seca (boy did we get looks amongst the bmw/klr crowd) and we rode two up with our gear. Had a blast!!! Made a lot of new friends and got to see almost every type of set up there was. Jac, rode his 50cc honda there, camp gear and everything, the guy was having a blast, he must have been 80 some years old and just this big smile on his face, he took one look at the Seca and recounted stories of all the motorcycles he has owned.

Came home Sunday, hugged my 400 then had to turn and burn to get the kids. Went out today and noticed a puddle of oil under her  there was no puddle on the days leading up to our trip.

I guess now to find time to work more on her.

redid the timing,it was way out now i am satisfied that side of it is all good, changed plug leads but i still cant get the bugger to rev above idle still splutering out of carbies as soon as i open throttle aaaaggghhh!!!!!!

Hi Dave i made the exhaust myself, the mounts are still off i have still yet to ride it (ever as i stripped it as soon as i got ) still can't get her to run right

stared at it, then clicked refresh on the FedEx tracking screen... repeat.

...why i feel the need to know where my packages are at all times, i dont know.

Well willem, it turns out I like to tinker on these things as much as ride them, so I sold the 400 to free up some cash for my other builds.

I have an old RD and an xs650 that are getting all the attention in the garage, and I needed cash to further build them. I made a little bit of money on the bike if you don't count all the labor hours I put into it, so I am ok with it. Not happy about it but I am ok with it.

Don't worry I will ride again on a dohc yam 400. Just maybe not for a couple of years.

Picked up a set of new rings today(ebay). I figured I could use them at some point as I will be getting another xs400 this fall:doh: A friend of mine that lives down the road has a 82 heritage That he has own for a long time. I told him if he ever sells it give me a call. Its all original and only 14k miles:)
