    Stock Rear Shock Length?

I've installed a flat seat pan, now when I hit moderate dips my rear wheel hits my seat even with my adjustable shocks at max length. What is the stock shock length? Has anyone come across this issue on their own bike? What would be the best length to buy? Bike is a '79.

How To: Install bronze swingarm bushings

Found this great video on youtube for installing bronze swingarm bushings (very thorough), hes doing a xs650 one but it all applies for our bikes too. He installs a grease nipple in the middle of the swingarm which I think is a worthwhile mod, im definatly going to put one in too.

    Fork Tube Swap

If I recall correctly the XS400 has 33mm tubes, yes? I've done some searches on the forum and all I'm finding is swapping triple trees or converting to inverted forks. I don't want inverted forks, just beefier forks with a larger diameter. I'm thinking boring my factory triple tree out...

Hi Everybody, Just had the swing arm off on my XS400 (twin cam, monoshock). Happy to find (aftermarket?) needle bearings in there in good shape and only needing a cleaning and fresh grease. But when I reinstalled the swing arm, it binds when I torque it anywhere near what the book says (65...

    Understanding Fork Geometry

Some time back I read a post where someone using the shotgun approach to solving his handling problems was seeking advice on what changes to make. One of the contributers who was obviously a motorcycle tech made a referance to the XS400 having fixed dampening. I must admit, I don't have a clue...

    Drive Chain Tensioner

For those of you who have increased your rear suspension travel, you may be finding that chain slack has become a real bother.
