Brake lever questions

Well, since I've been out in the garage all day huffing paint fumes I figured it's time to sit down and figure out some of the specifics. I'm converting to rear disc, and threw all brake balance cautions to the wind and have decided to use a master cylinder off one of my old bikes. Before I go mounting anything to any frames, I wanted to get the mc slightly mocked up with all accompanied parts included. Is there a different rear brake lever (pedal) from the 77-79 disc models and would it still sit nicely in the frame of an 81 if it is different?

And without starting a new thread, I'm kind of worried about these brake pads. I've seen the phrase tapered pad thrown around but these seem like they're super tapered..

Since they are out of the calipers, get new ones.Apparently Vesrah sintered is the way to go...

These are new.. if they're a cause for concern I'll replace them. Brakes are kind of something I should get right. But if the consensus is that they're usable then I'll run 'em

For those type calipers that is new. Pic of a set I have new and still in the package.
