I'd like to lower my bike a little bit so I can stand over it and put my feet flat. I only need it lowered an inch or two. Has anybody ever cut stock springs with any degree of success? I've heard that people do it, but I've never seen any pictures or heard any real stories about people doing it on our bikes.
PS It would only be a temporary solution until i can afford the 11.5" ones from mikesxs

I would imagine it would be like doing a car. Do one coil and see how it sits. Basically just go straight down from where the coil starts and cut.

If you're going to buy the ones you want, then I wouldn't think it'd be worth the effort to cut these ones: if you don't get them the same length you won't be happy with your ride. I'd try and look at a swap meet or even selling them to make the cash to buy the ones you want.

You can look at my thread, my rear springs where changed to
Shorter ones! It was the owner before me who changed so I'm not
Shure from witch bike it came from! I'm. Gonna post some pics
When I hold the original vs the new one today!

Peace

Thanks for the insight everybody! I'll check out your thread, fox. I probably wont end up doing it but I swear I've heard of people doing it on this forum!
