Hi all!!

I have a new tire being delivered (late!) on Monday but need to get somewhere over the weekend. I have dry rot setting into my front tire. How risky would it be to do a 100 mile round trip on it??

Many thanks!!

Um... you're asking how risky it is to ride when one of the only two things keeping you attached to the ground and able to accelerate, brake and turn is rotten?

Oh. It's fine. Have fun.

If you have a tube in it you should be fine. But if is tubeless I would not drive it.

Dry rotting tires are a MotoGP secret. Youve heard of softer compounds are better for cornering, right, well thats because it lets the tires peel off a bit easier through the corners. Dry rotting the tire allows this to happen 10x better.

eh? dry rotting tyres is the the rubber cracking due to UV etc.

It de-laminates the tyre too till the cord shows through and BOOM!

motogp tyres last 1 race if your lucky (about 100 miles)
