Look for high density marine foam.
I got some high density stuff but it doesnt seem worth a crap to me........not sure though.
Kicking myself for tossing a old ripped up seat I had........

I did make the pan myself. I used 1/8” plywood and finerglass mat and resin. I used closed cell foam for a kayak seat that ACK sells. Its on the firm side, but my seat is only about 2” thick. Im making another seat and i plan on using the same foam again, but with another layer of soft foam on top. The kayak foam isnt the worst though. People kayak all day and put their himd sides on it..
I have an electric knife hanging in my work area. Spectra, didn't you keep any of the old seats? I actually saved an extra pad for if I wanted to lower the seat height. I have already chopped on it though. I might have another around here from a1980...but I am not certain. One idea for foam would be to visit a junk yard for cars and see if you can find something out of a car with a damaged seat they might let you have it for next to nothing. Never tried it but have heard that an electric carving knife works good for shaping foam, just do it while wife is out shopping!!

What I have seen others use is sections of gym mats. If you could find a small recreational mat like that it would be dense enough so it would hold up well. Hell, just go to the local high school and cut a hunk out of the wrestling mats, they will understand! No stupid me tossed it as I bought a pre manufactured seat for my other build. Then this one decided to go my own rout as the upholstery guy said the foam he has wont last long on a bike.........only good on cars I guess.........Hell I had a few of them and got tired of moving them around........I cleaned everything out a month or so ago as I was tired of the mess.......oh well I cant be a hoarder
I like the brown
Yes, I would that. Maybe incorporating the orange color into stripes in the seat/fender. Or stripes the same color as the seat on the tankThanks! maybe it will grow on me will see. I may get some brown grips but not sure yet.
....or did you use up all that cool Roth orange?Orange for the seat trim would look better.
That surprises me that the ROTH paint is not auto grade, especially the clear you used.
I feel your pain, i spilled on my white and orange, a big one due to cracked funnel, it ate right through it. My red one had one drip right in the middle of the tank top. I cleaned it off immediately but not before the damage was done. After it penetrated the clear it started to spread through the color coat, leaving a big ugly spot. Very frustrating couple of weeksNot the tank the rear fender/pan combo.......the paint is a SEM product but doesnt like fuel very much.......
