Petcock questions/options

Ok, I bought a 78 Yamaha DT125 tank. I know it's not an XS400 tank but I plan to try and fit it
It has a screw on type petcock, I wanted to try to find a brass petcock or explore different options rather than just the stock one. I measured it with a caliper and appears to be 16mm, does this sound right, can anyone verify? Would it be 16mm x 1mm threads?

If I do figure it out, is there any specifics i need to keep in mind? I suspect it is a 16mm x 1mm connection after trying the 16mm x 2mm nut they had at the hardware store and it had much larger threads. It could still be 16 x 1.5. Does the fuel line need to be any specific size? I found this which may work:

I'm sure you saw this on ebay. You could contact the seller and ask if it 16mm X 1.00 thread.
