Has anyone polished the XS mags? They are pretty rough cast would need lot of sanding, and being so small have a lot of hard to get to areas.

I think I will give it a try, the polishing not the porn. Will do little at a time, in no hurry have done hundreds of wheels and frames on modern bikes but they have wide rims closed spokes so aren't pain to do. And wouldn't Polish porn have them wearing long winter coats.

Saw a KZ1000 today with polished wheels they are narrow too, wondered if the XS/RD would stand out polished being so narrow the KZ's looked great were mirror polished.

I polished the rims on the resto xs and they looked great. I have seen aircooled rd's with polished wheels (same style as ours) and look good

If you could get a little flap wheel in there and do a lot of the hard work that would be a bonus. I don't know if there is anything like that out there please let me know if there is.

I would think polishing mags would take a crazy amount of time and would need to have a clear coat after to keep them there. Chrome would be a better solution I would think.

Chrome can look too much on some things, but either way they would still need to be polished before chroming. The chrome finish can only be as good as the polish job beneath it. A complete polish job would be a huge undertaking to say the least lol. Hey heres a crazy idea right outa left wing...maybe you could grind down the outer ridges on the spokes so they are flat then it would be a crap load easier to polish. :)

I will be using little flap wheels and 3/4 inch sand disks, scour pads in dremel, along with many other things I have will post what I used where when I get to it (hopefully week after one coming up) shouldn't take too long.

Got chance to do a little, spokes weren't as bad as I thought will be even easier when I get some rougher grit rubber points.
