Hi Guys,

I have an 1983 XS400K Maxim. The problem I am having is that when I roll the bike backwards is that there is some resistance. It will roll forward without any problem. When the bike is on the centre stand both front and rear wheels move freely. The transmission is in neutral as well.

Please help!

Thanks

Rob

Sounds like a caliper is sticking. I'd suggest rebuilding it or atleast removing the caliper, remove the piston and clean it out then reassemble.

Now that you mention it I do hear a bit of a scrubbing sound as if a parking brake was on. Thanks for your help. I will pull the caliper off to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks again,

Rob
