Hi guys,
I'm currently (started july '15) rebuilding my xs400 seca to a custom. It's my first project ever.
I started with this.. bought it for a few Euros. It was already semi disassembled and 'edited' with a grinder.
However, many things were missing (found that out after a couple of weeks). So I had to start it all from the beginning without a working motorcycle.
First I disassembled the bike to know how some things were mounted and I wanted to clean any part anyway. So I ended up with this.
Started rebuilding with the front fork.
After the front fork, I started with the brake caliper.. what a hell of a project
Found out that the brake caliper was stuck like @#$%.
So I had to remove the bushings and the piston.
filled the bushing holes up with some kind of industrial paste aluminum. Ordered a new caliper piston + rubbers. added a 'nice' paint coat as well.
No offense, but I did not like the stock seca gastank + wheels. So I bought another tank + wheels.
After that I rebuild the carbs
After the carbs, onto the engine
started with this; sandblasted;
disassembled and painted
replace the bearings & seal rings and assemble it back together.
et voila
