    Ok neither one budges. I will soak in kroil and see what happens. So when the choke slide is pushed in and out, it should be moving both of these? That would explain a lot of carb issues we've been having.

    I'm dismantling the (non functional) choke of this '81 XS400. Should this part of the choke move when pulled? I have the nut + rubber part removed from the left side, and the right side still all together. Neither moves. Slide, springs and balls are also removed. And if it's not supposed to...

    Rubber stopper in jet in float bowl

    Should there be a rubber stopper capping off the (main or pilot, whichever is smaller, pilot?) jet in the carb float bowl? Or should both of those jets bet directly accessible to a screwdriver without having to remove any rubber stopper/caps? '81 xs400

    I have two XS400 manuals, with two different clearance ranges for the intake valves (exhaust clearances match). Which are they? 1) 0.11 ~ 0.15 mm 0.004 ~ 0.006 in 2) 0.08 ~ 0.12 mm 0.003 ~ 0.005 in ALSO one of the manuals mentioned something about turning the motor...

    Dumb question, but I'm new to this... Saw this picture in another thread. What kind of timing is this, electronic or points? I thought it was points but it doesn't look the same as the other videos of setting the points timing I've seen on youtube.
