I just bought 4ohm black coils for mikesXS, supposed to work on 650 and xs400 models - haven't had a chance to start bike yet cause rebuilding carbs first.
Have to admit, the exposed metal leads coming off the coils have me wondering if I wasted 75.00........
here is a pair of used ones with...
Thanks xsChris,
Yeah, we did, ohmage match so hoping they work - just look/feel kinda chincy.....that'ts what i get for paying 28.00 a piece for equipment:)
I just bought and mounted the black coils rated for XS650 but ad stated they can used with 1977 XS400 as well: https://www.mikesxs.net/product/17-6805.html

Does anyone know if one can be fabricated? I found a starter clutch from statewide cycle salvage (as well as starter, chain/gear/guide and solenoid) but the cover is missing and they can't find one, after extensive searching I can't find one either
Thanks!

I just bought a real nice cafe xs400, I want to have an electric starter installed (previous owner reconfigured the rear sets but get in the way when kick starting and my ankle is purple from hitting the set assembly)
Seattle Cycle Center gave me list of everything I need (starter, starter...
