Apparently the '81's have welds that hold the muffler to the headers. I could hack it off, but if I decide not to, does anyone know if the pre '81 headers will bolt up correctly?

Hello all, one crossover on my muffler is leaking. I have taken it off, rotated the shims then put them on again to no avail. Is there a trick I am missing? or should I just get some wrap? Cheers, (Never mind, used some old muffler cement on all the shims and did the trick!)

Well i got bored and decided to change the exhaust up a bit. Taking off the old stuff almost all together with alot of chopping and grinding/welding. Have part of it done but have alot more to go. Not sure if i want to get them coated with something again or just wrap them with white heat...
