I'm not endorsing it, or take responsibilty for the design. but if your stuck and you can solder, why not have a go!

I mihgt just have a go at this - i finally got the bike running well (leaking inlet rubbers + bad ignition coil) and have found it isnt charging.

I have measured all the resistances and everything seems (more or less) in the right ranes, I also checked the rectifier diodes and they also seem OK - it does look like the regulator is the bad part (when I briefly shorted the green coil wire to Ignition +ve I started to get a variable voltage out of the rectifier which would 'follow' engine revs instead of a stead voltage drop)

Alternatively does anyone know where I can get a standalone regulator in the UK (the rectifier is fine) as these seem to be almost impossible to find....
