Cool helmet

I just found this cool helmet at a thrift store... anybody know anything about it from the markings on the back?? the inside says... "this helmet meets z-90 1-1966 NY approved" cool as hell if you asked me!!!

The first ASA helmet standard was Z90.1-1966, Protective Headgear for Vehicular Users published in 1966 [28]. The first revision was published by ANSI in 1971 (American National Standards Institute).

Cool helmet! To put on display, that is. Not to wear. I don't think it would be legal on the street.

Helmets have a life span of I think 5-7 years or something like that. What happens is the foam inside breaks down and looses its cushioning ability making them unsafe. Also the modern ones are much better made that a 40 year old one. Good to show but not for go

Yeah thanks for the info... i do have a newer helmet and wear it!

There are companies who will reline helmets... but I don't think that makes them DOT compliant.

That is an awesome looking helmet.
