The first ASA helmet standard was Z90.1-1966, Protective Headgear for Vehicular Users published in 1966 [28]. The first revision was published by ANSI in 1971 (American National Standards Institute).
Helmets have a life span of I think 5-7 years or something like that. What happens is the foam inside breaks down and looses its cushioning ability making them unsafe. Also the modern ones are much better made that a 40 year old one. Good to show but not for go
