How can I tighten my shocks?

I read on a couple threads that there is a way to tighten your shocks. I have a 81 xs400 and welded a "u" beam to the end of the frame for a custom seat. There will be no rear fender on it and i was wondering how can i adjust the rear shocks so that they will be as stiff as possible so I don't bottom out?? I attached a pic of what she's looking like so far!

last try otherwise save the pic on ur comp and rotate it please

Do you mean make them stiffer? I so you can set the pre-load harder by turning the adjuster at the bottom of the spring. It looks like yours are already set to the stiffest point.

Get a big pair of pliers and turn bottom of shock.
