I originally started this in The Lounge which turns out to be the wrong place.

I'm a born-again biker after a gap of about 30 years! Got back into it through my son. We've both got XS650s but now having a go at building up a cafe racer XS400. Early days as we gather the bits we need.

Ok, here goes:

The black one is my bog stock US spec (447) '81 SH. Nice and reliable and sweet to ride.

The red one is also mine and in a former life it was a Euro spec (533) '79 SE but has obviously been modified somewhat. It's currently awaiting my attention but I'm not sure in what direction to go with it now. The major mods will stay. Any suggestions?

The 'metal' one is my lad's US spec '78 SE. It's similar to the red one (unintentional) but executed differently, if you catch my drift.
