So I opened the side of the engine up so I could check on the clutch plates. Pretty sure I put it back exactly as it came out but the kickstart won’t move any more.

Any thoughts to diagnose this?

Seems like maybe just more of a clutch adjustment issue. Took it all apart again and pieced it back together. Will play with the clutch cable next.

There is a procedure for putting the proper preload on the return spring. If this isn't done right it can bind the shaft.
Clutch adjustment won't cause the kick to not move.

Where would I find this procedure? I don't see anything in the Haynes manual.
