loose mirror - won't stay up

Hey guys,

The right mirror on my dad's xs400 will not stay in place. I believe it's the ball and socket style mechanism? Is there a way to tighten this so the mirror doesn't droop? I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow but figured I'd ask first.

Both of the mirrors on mine were like that. I bought a new set of mirrors

Threw the mirror in the oven until it reached 250 degrees F. This was enough to soften the rubber around the glass, and I was able to pop if off. Behind the glass, there was a screw with a spring. The screw was bad and the threads in the stem were worn. I'm going to try to re-thread.
