Hello, I'm Dean from the Chicagoland area and I rescue motorcycles. Depending on the condition and model of bike, I might complete a multi-year restoration or just a quick one-off budget custom. In the end most get adopted and back on the road where they belong. I'm not a business, it's just a hobby, so if I put $2000 into a restoration and after two years of work, sell it for $1900, that's all good. After all, how many hobbies only cost $100 for two years of fun?

I have been riding and working on bikes for 40+ years, however actually documenting projects on the internet is fairly new. Here was my last rescue project: http://www.2strokeworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=17070.msg128748#msg128748

Here is my TX500 custom that's been my ride few seasons: http://motorcyclephotooftheday.com/2012/08/01/a-really-nice-crosa-styled-yamaha-tx500-cafe-racer/

I have a really sad XS360 rescue bike that has been sitting in the corner for a few years. I joined this forum to share the process of getting it back on the road with some maintenance and mild customization

Hi Dean, I just read your RD350 thread. You do phenomenal work, I'm excited to see what you do with one of our bikes :)

Wow Dean, welcome to the site. Really enjoyed your RD400 build. (I have an R5 desert project disassembled in the wings) Seems like we have a similar approach to bike building. Being a touch younger I don't yet have your patience for plating. Looking forward to what you bring to the table!
