Hi everyone. I have a 1980 xs400 special. At the risk of sounding even dumber than I have in the past, here is another question. I think my neighbor has this so backwards I cant figure out what is right. Could someone please send me a pic of the petcock in the prime position and in the reserve position. I think I may have a simple solution. As usual thank you for your input, and have a great day. By the way the reply about a family forum was hilarious. It was good to laugh while dealing with his pain.

If the petcock is operational and working right then with petcock on it will not leak in ON and REServe but will flow freely when in PRIme position

Try turning it. As you turn it it only turns a 1/2 turn. With it turned all the way one way then all the way the other. Put it half way between. At the half way point does the handle point to ON? I bet it does. With the handle all the way to the front, what does it point to? All the way back?
