soakin' my carbs

I have a parts washer with diesel fuel in it,and it is good for washing gunk off of parts.I do that, drain, then soak in an old crock pot overnight[covered],then wash off all of the residue with the garden hose. what's left,I blow off with compressed air,and ream out the passages with a small wire or welding torch tip cleaners. That's what works for me. lha

Alright, first of all let me just start by saying that I am new to this. I recently purchased a '76 Kawasaki KZ750. It's been great so far, but I noticed I was leaking fuel. I kind of just dove right in and took the carbs completely off - following, of course, the manuals directions. Now, I would love to get these guys nice and clean, but don't know a thing about syncing them. How deep of a clean, if any depth, can I perform without having to mess with syncing?

Thanks, guys!

?? this is an xs400 site

but... the syncing is done when the carbs are attached to the bike using a nanometre. Is the KZ a the twin or 4 cylinder bike?
