OK! so i still have much electrical work to do, much OEM parts to order (my motion pro speedo and throttle cable, did not fit...), and today was so beautiful out that i even took time off work to go work on the bike.
I changed the oil filter, the O-rings accompanying, drained and changed the oil, cleaned the oil filter screen. However....
When I went to go put back the oil filter screen housing cover, I began to torque the bolts to their specified torque as per the service manual, and the first one i was on just kept going and going, i hesitated and then realized i was still using the most accurate torque wrench i owned, continued, and then it snapped off completely. The others ones were "tight" but not torqued, and I left them as is. Now the bike is leaking oil at a rate of about 1 drop per 30 seconds or so. Is there a fix for this, a way to seal off that bolt hole? or dare I attempt to take the cover off and fish that bolt out with vise grips? Id rather not....
Still have my electrical demons to slay, but I may be moving the bike north to have my father help me fix it as he is much more technical than me, even though i live vicariously through the machine....
