Vecta's 79 xs restoration

last inspection sticker was 1999

so been for a few rides on the old girl now she is on the road.
i'm getting like a flat spot around 7000-7500 rpms
is this normal or do i need to alter something ??

now when i say a flat spot, i mean it like sticks at them revs for a few seconds
like it's waiting for more fuel and then it takes off again all the way to redline.

all the normal in town running around you don't notice it but when your out of town
on the country lanes and i can open her up you find the flat spot

Sweet, A bit of advice for removing that bird sheit from your speedo, warm soapy water and a sponge Nahh, seriously, great thread, good luck your doing just fine!

still love the ride of the old xs400
but soon a grab bar will be getting fitted soon . sly409 is selling me the one from his 79
still working on polish just to grt her looking as good as i can

need some idea's on paint

i know i want to go along the midnight blue and silver two tone

now i don't want to change to much from how they are stock but i want to change it up some . by that i mean i not painting it midnight blue and adding the silver stripe like it is stock

and this winter the seat is getting redone

Well hello again i am back
just a little update and will add pics again of where i am now


paint project did not happen but oh well there is always next year!!

i did get the seat done and the grab bar put on over the winter like i said i was doing
polish is going to start again now the weather is getting better again too
