Introduction - new guy "midtown"

I loved my motor pool guys. Motorpool- Hey Doc what do you need? Me- here's a case of beer, how do i fix this?.
Same thing with the HT's, HT1- Hey Doc what do you need? Me- Here's a case of beer, teach me how to weld.
There are some things i truely miss about the military. that is one of them.

Corpsman? Outstanding. You guys always took care of us. Motor pool 29 Palms-hey corporal, whatcha need? Me - Sgt says we need 4 humvees to train off road and test the four wheel drive. Motorpool - ok, bring 'em back in one piece. My favorite thing - Hey PFC, go over to the motor pool and get the keys to the humvees from Sgt. Smith. Don't come back until he gives them to you, understood?

:hijack: Sorry, didnt mean to get this hijacked! since it got Hijacked

That is one of the many reasons I have enjoyed the Air Force Reserves. I spent 2 months deployed to New Mexico, I have fixed my car's irritating problems, that as a civilian I would never have time to fix, (with a wife/kids who have needs too) I have often wondered why those Car hobby shops aren't more available out there in the civilian sector. FYI Marines from 1989 to 1997, 2002 to 2004, Air force 2004 to present. Firefighter for most of that time.

arfstrom, you know Marines just take over anything they want :) Sorry about the hijack, Semper Fi from Rochester, MN.

Like Buzz Lightyear?

Awesome.

To Infinity... and BEYOND!

Yep. It's an interesting MAJCOM (major command) full of geeks and flight-school washouts. Kidding aside, some of the jobs are boring, but the interesting ones are classified.

My squadron operates an old Cold War era radar built for detecting sea-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs for short). It can also track Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellites.

I'm an instructor. The job has been fun to a point, but we don't have the manning to deploy people. In short, I'm getting bored.:banghead: Luckily, Colorado isn't too far around the corner.

 that icon didnt work, I had more fun at Holloman AFB.(new mexico) They had a NASA shuttle recovery/landing zone, about 1982 that had actually caught a space shuttle. ;) and a ton or two of white sand. Plus the opening scene of "Transformers" the first movie, and maybe part 2, was there as well!

:) take care, perhaps NCO academy will be there in Colorado for me!
