1969 Yamaha TD-2 GP race replica build

Cool, and can't wait to see the progress with the machine. I did a little mock up with the tank but, have not found my direction yet. Haven't had a lot of time for the other bits and I think the first order of business is maybe try out the mufflers. Been riding mine to work on the nice days though.

As promissed, a few update pics...rear sets, rear brake, frame mods, some polished stuff and the SV650 taillight integrated into the tail. You can't see the light from the side so it keeps the traditional race profile, it also has integrated blinkers so it's even kinda legal.:D

Almost forgot...a little paint scheme teaser, just finished the matching helmet. Truth is I've got a bit of a helmet problem, I have to have one for every ride plus maybe a backup or two...or three, that makes like a dozen:yikes:

Well, she runs again after about 9 months of not. I got all the black painted parts reinstalled (fork lowers, inner fender, pipes) today and just had to hear it, so I fabbed up a temp fuel can and second kick she fired right up. The custom short mufflers I made were just too loud (and I like loud!), so I put on the chrome Dunstalls I had and it is just about right. Next steps are the fabrication of the clip-ons and the paint and body work on the tank, seat and front fender. Hopefully another couple months and it;ll be ridable!

i like the look of this and the white with red stripe brings back a memory of my fave racer Barry Sheene and his number 7

I know it's been a while, but it is finally done (for now, alloy rims and fairing in the future)! I got it done just in time for the huge vintage ride up here in the NW and man was it a hit, I had comments and questions all day. Hope you enjoy!

wow, looks amazing credit to you steve

love the dunstall silencers and the coil relocation, and lots of other details keep springing up. I can understand why peeps keep you from riding :D

Thanks Drewpy,
but I gotta admit, after putting so much time into something and having it turn out just like you imagined you don't really mind answering any questions that come up. I consider questions to be as good as comments since I was looking to build something that you dont see everyday.
