1980 XS400H
As stated above, Changed oil and filter for the first time today, have put approx 600 miles on the bike since I bought it in December, all city miles. Oil was very black and smelled like gas (already fixed that, holed floats and binding float needles replaced). Found a .5cm chunk of white plastic 
in the oil pan along with what looked like sand. Bike runs like a champ, no grinding, shifts well, smokes sometimes but not regularly.
