i found out that i have a problem with a cylinder on my engine , due to the time that the engines wasn't running (around 10 years ) i have corrosion in on of the cylinders . i consulted my mechanic and he told the best solution is to go on a bigger size piston and machining the cylinders now the problem is i need to find out which yamaha engine has a piston that fits my engine. i have an xs400 yics 1984-85 . anything knowledge will be appreciated

To the best of my knowledge, there are no new pistons being made for the DOHC engine, and no other pistons will work without lots of machining. There were oversized pistons available from Yamaha, once upon a time. Chances of finding them, new or used, is highly unlikely. You might find something on eBay. Or get a used barrel and pistons and install them. If the damage isn't too severe, I'd be inclined to hone the cylinder bores, install a new set of piston rings, and then break in the engine aggressively.
