What did you buy/order today? and how much was it?

Oh no! This is where most of us will admit that we have invested double the market value of our bikes, and that doesn't include the personal labour! There will be a small group who have virtually nothing into their bike, but they are the exception.

I have kept decent records of what I've spent on my bike, and without my labour or the expenses of my workshop, I have CDN$2,189.64 into my bike. With the 7,600km I've ridden it so far, that works out to CDN$0.30/km just for parts and supplies. Fuel adds another CDN$0.06/km. And I don't even want to mention insurance and riding gear expenses...

I haven't bought anything for my bike today, yet. But I'm sort of looking for different mirrors and brighter LED lights...

Should I include little bits of fingers small cuts bruises and mental anguish?? If all is to be considered it's close to 3 times the usual cost of a worthy barn find. The experience has been well worth the price of admission though. Along with the chance to chat with like minded folks from around the world.

ah but how much saved from not visiting the bar or going out to the movies as you tinker with your bike?

priceless :)

Ok I think I have it. $325 for the bike 90 for the mufflers, 35 for a set of carbs, 40 new battery, 30 for front brake shoes. 45 for medical supplies, 95.00/wk for ongoing mental health evaluation. Unlimited $ in emergency room visits for frustration related injuries.

yepp. Keep on building.
I do not know and I do not want to know and if I knew I would not tell you about the costs. But the bike itself kosted me a bottle of wine:)

I just have a new seat at the saddler. Together with the new tank it will more expensive than most XS you fnd on ebay...

I keep track because I want to know where I went wrong with the first purchase of parts. I've found that those great deals on eBay (usually from China) are often wasted money. And I should have listened to my friend when he told me to get Dual-Sport tires...

I stopped counting...I think it's about 2.000 Euros at the moment. Most of money I spent on engine rebuild (pistons, rings, new rocker arms, gaskets...), then engine and wheel paint, tyres, shocks, RS forks, carb manifolds, swingarm bushings, bearings...

This month I could order clip-ons and Tarozzi rearsets... (about 300 Euros):yikes:
Here in Europe is everything twice as expensive as in US, even the products which are made in Europe...

If you don't like compromises...there is no other way to go.

The american products too.
Two years ago I changed to spoke wheels, which I had to buy in America, at least parts of it. Front wheel was 90$ plus shipping (another 90$). Plus rear wheel hub (a friend bought it in the US) plus spokes plus rim (from german RD). And ńew tires at the end...

I didnt have buy anything only to have my exhaust pipes welded which didnt cost much.I give m buddy referals to get welding jobs and get good welding for cheap prices.
