Snap Ring Pliers for Sprocket Removal

Hey guys, I bought some cheap snap ring pliers from Harbor Freight to remove the large circular clip that retains the sprocket on the rear of my 78E. They are way too small! I can't really find anything good online, so I was wondering what you guys use. Any recommendations?

    tire size confusion

Think it may be time to upgrade my tires. They don't look dried and cracked, but the DOT # says "468" which I presume they were manufactured in 98 or 88. the back tire is 130/90-16. no problem. the front tire - per manual says " "300S19-4PR" I assume that translates into a 100/90-19...

    Rear Wheel Alignment?

So I had the wheels off my bike I while ago, doing tires and bearings and whatnot, and after putting them back on, I noticed the rear wheel wasn't centered. I was noticeably closer to the drive side. I figured it was the chain tensioners not inline, but it wasn't, and everything checked out. I...

Are 1978 XS400E mag wheels tube or tubeless?

I am pretty sure i read in this forum that the mag wheels (the one with 7 stars shaped pattern) are NOT tubeless before 1980. Just wanted to confirm. Think someone else mentioned you can run tubeless tires, but still need the tubes underneath them. Whats the consequences of running...

Belt Drive Conversion? GOOD IDEA?/BAD IDEA?

Ok, I did some pretty hard core research today and I think I am going to do a belt drive conversion to my bike. From what I can tell, belt strength has made huge gains in recent history, and seeing that HD guys rarely have to change a belt, thought it could be something plausible for us to...

My XS400 has a rear rim that says 2.15", yet all the tire companies say the 120/90/16 tire should be fitted to a 2.5" wide rim at a minimum. Was the original tire mounted on the 16" XS400 specially designed for the smaller rim or what? Am I missing something here as the pickens for a rear...
