1977 “malleable iron” 7 spoke wheels, PC or paint?

I am staring at my new Avon tires and looking at both sets of my 1977 D edition 7 spoke, flat silver stock wheels…They are pretty ugly, no pitting or cracks just showing their age…

Has anyone on here had these wheels blasted and powder coated or is it unsafe to put them in an oven to bake on the finish? I can clean them up and paint them too, but prefer the hardness of powder coating, though they are quite porous...

Anyone with some powder coated or painted 7 spokes, put up some pictures! My bike has twin disk brakes up front and a single disk in the rear, it’s a 77’ XS400D…. project fun

cleaned, polished and sprayed them myself. they should be fine powder coated

I sandblasted, then sprayed black epoxy paint. I was told it's more forgiving than PC, more flexible therefore chips less So far so good, over 7K on them this season, not a single chip or scuff
