So far this year, I have been able to hit 80, twice. I guess I have tune-ing up to do yet. I have the 17 tooth sprocket, I figured out I was in 5th gear when I hit 80 the first time. 6th gear seems to slowly increment. Last year 74mph.
anyone else get speed wobbles over 70? i drilled out my front disk and had the bit walk on a few of em (only millimeters) but i'm assuming (hoping) this is my problem. that would be best case scenario i'm assuming. anyone else find anything that specifically would cause this on an 80 special?
Common causes (besides out of balance disks) would be loose, tight or worn steering head bearings (19 up and 19 down), unevenly worn tires (can't always tell by looking), out of balance tires, loose or worn forks or an out of alignment rear wheel.
