So I bought this after market master cylinder off ebay<link is below>. It came with a 2 prong switch for the brake light, The master cylinder its self works great, it has been on the bike for a few months but I started my bike up today and noticed the break light was stuck on, I felt the switch it was really hot and ended up melting the switch in the on position and now i need a new one.

1. So my question is what would do this?

2. Is it possible I hooked the wires up backwards?

any input is appreciated, thanks in advance

1: You can't wire it backwards. It either breaks the connection or completes it

2: If it got hot enough to melt the switch I would guess that there is a short somewhere in your brake light circuit
