Like many with old bikes, in spite of taking good care of them, I have recently noticed some rust spots in the travel area on my fork tubes. There are lots of tubes for the 1977 on e-bay but most are in much worse shape than mine. New replacement tube are out of my price range. I've looked at the charts and have found several the right diameter but what about length. Can anyone tell me the length of the tubes on my 77? I have found several for the XV250 at a price I can afford but if they are to long and if so, can I cut them off at the bottom? These are threaded inside on the top and you can use preload adjusters! Any help appreciated!
