front caliper p/n or compatible with other xs??

Just tearing into an 82 xs400j maxim. The front brakes were dragging, trying to free up the piston now but am curious if a caliper off a 650 would also work?
I would consider buying lever/resevior, ss line and caliper if I can find the parts or proper part numbers.....

not even sure which rebuild kit i would get... any help with this greatly appreciated!

I think the caliper itself is the same. The difference is the caliper carrier.

I stand corrected. Looks like the Maxims are different than the SOHCs
