Well I'm Devin and I'm new here!
Seems to be a sweet site so far so I figured I'd join and post up.
Picked up a 79 xs400 last weekend to start a build. I believe it's a 2f since it came with spoke rims.
First impression of the bike was , it's a bike to build. I didnt test ride it I didnt start it. I just knew it wasnt locked up so on the trailer it went. It had everything I was looking for!
Spoke rims (although they're a little smaller then I wanted but itll be okay)
Chain drive
Simple
Mechanical brakes
No more then 2 carbs

Tank had some dents, seat torn exhaust cracked wiring all rigged up, a kids bicycle brake lever for the front brake lever, .75 of a grip. I kinda felt bad for the ole' girl. When I went to pick her up she was just sitting there in the rain, not running and looking funky from so many un-talented people poking at her with tools and paint. She's in good hands now though!
The plan is
6" stretch
3" drop
Drag bars
Dual sport tires
New tank
New seat
Hardtailed
A lot of new parts
Rustic paintjob.
Just a simple clean bobber build with a "Moonshiner's Get Away bike" type of vibe

Still trying to figure out how to post pics so any help would be appreciated haha
