Hi to everyone, hope you all enjoyed a good Christmas and New Year.

I have been busy fabricating a table lift over the past few weeks and am now looking into fixing up the hydraulic piston/ram. For this I found a hydraulic cylinder, with the pump incorporated into the body of the ram, operated by a length of metal tubing - same as a car jack. I could manage to operate the lift with this system, but it would be more effective if I could re-locate the pump section and attach it where it would be easier to get to. I was thinking I may be able to remove the threaded pump section from the body and replace this with a length of hydraulic pipe having the necessary male/female threads to complete the circuit between the 2 parts. Anyone got any idea if this will work? Information on the internet has confused the issue where they tend to talk about pumps which include fluid reservoirs and 2 way operating systems. Any help appreciated guys.
