How to light yourself on fire? hahahaha Naw, I know what you mean. lolyou gotta show me how to do it when (if ) i come down
Ok. Yeah, i left it out in the rain, then drained it before I left. It's sitting in the garage with the cap off, so I guess I will be fine. I just wasn't quite sure what was actually in the tank, so I didn't want to go lighting myself into a ball of flames! haha Thanks Skillz
Use the gas from your MIG welder and flood the tank with an inert gas while you cut it open.

Thanks bro, and welcome! It's a lot of work, but it's cheap to build the bike that way. It's taking a lot longer on the rebuild than I had planned, but I think the final outcome will impress! Stay tuned man!Wow, I just signed up here, your bike was fucking rad in the beginning. I am pretty sure I want something of the likes.
I take them to the carwash, soap, then home to rinse with water, then paint thinner, then alchohol. That usually leaves them pretty clean and fairly safe to cut or weld, after airing out overnight, lhaolpaOk. I'm getting all allen key bolts for the ones that are not already replaced.Right now, they're all mixed up with the hex bolts rusty, the allen heads non-rusted.lhaolpaYeah, I think I will probably hit them with clear, then buy all new bolts next winter.
Thanks for the tip.
If the metal is clean[no grease or oil] you can use white vinegar, just spray on with a spray bottle, and use a clean cloth, and paint. lhaolpaI want to clean the engine so the paint will stick, but I'm sort of lost on how to go about doing that. I thought about temporarily bolting the exhaust and carbs on the keep water out, then throwing the whole thing in the bed of the truck, then taking it to the car wash with a can of two of engine degreaser.
Do you guys see any problem with that? I don't think water will get in the motor, but hell, I'm not sure! lol I plan to change the oil before running it again by the way...
