Im surprised it moves at all.
i would change the chain and back sprocket as well, imagine what that chain must have been through, driven by that sprocket. haha but you probably already thought of that.
Ha.. This is sick. New sprocket versus the old one.
And since I didn't want to cut in to the frame or cut up my tank, I had to switch out the brand new petcock for this one:
It didn't generate the best looking fuel line route, but it will keep me riding 'till I get my greasy paws on a regular see through fuel line, an in line petcock and a smaller in line filter.
AND I sure have to mount my coils elsewhere. It seems a bit to hot where they're mounted now..
I also put in new oil, new oil filter, o-rings and spark plugs. Spring is around the corner!
that is caused by leaving the ignition on and not running the bike, they get really hot and break doing that. Its the wax protecting the primary and secondary coils!
Oh crap. And yes, I did forget to turn the ignition off over night once this week. Well, I'm getting a new set of coils anyways. Just didn't wanna have to do this until after this weekend..
That only made me feel better for like a minute drewpy, but thanks. Lol. Were your coils still useable? I guess I'll find out soon enough anyway, just cusrious..
Not yet xschris. I don't have any fuel in the tank either - will get a shut off valve this week though. And another fuel line. This one is way to big. Looks out of proportion.
So. Long time no see..?
I've got a quote on the paint job now. Will be dropping of the tank, plastic parts and rear fender by the 10th of this month. Got a good deal on that.
Still need to get a proper handlebar. TC Bros got a nice looking lane splitter that I'm thinkng of buying. And those coils..... Darn it.'
Will post pictures when it's painted!
Yeah, I've found the grey ones for about £15 a piece (I think it was anyways)..
I've got som pre paint job done today:
I've also got to weld my fender struts. Will post pic's when I've polished them
And this thursday it's of to paint with all the tins. It's really time consumin to build two bikes at the same time. Not to mention how frekkin' expensive it is..
TC Bros Choppers dot com. Some other trinkets from Lowbrow. I had a sh*t load of luck that my package slipped through customs without detection. Otherwise I'd be charged an extra 35%.
Swedish customs and postal fees sux.
And I got my tins back from paint. Paint job turned out real nice - will post pictures as soon as I've got more space on my flickr account. But I just found out that my tank has a leak.. So - no riding for me this weekend either. Will have to clean, ets and seal my tank instead. And that shit is expensive here in friggin' Sweden..
So it's done. Painted, put together and test driven. New fuel line installed along with a new fuel filter. Got a "clonking" sound when I ride it, I think I need some rubber washers to mount the tank on to get rid of that noice.
My front brake has stopped working. No pressure anymore. Will try and bleed that into working again. Anyone knows if dot5 is ok to use in these old brake lines? The brake worked fine a couple of months ago..
Final things needed is black exhaust wrapping and some touch up paint on a few places on the frame. Since the coils still work, I'll let 'em be for now. when I get a new set I will mount them behind one of the side covers.
The "Special" decals is also going back on those side covers.
Oh - the "Hello Kitty - with a M16"? That's because I built this for the Mrs.
